hover taxi
The movement of a helicopter or VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft above the surface of and in ground effect at air speeds less than 20 knots. The actual hover height may vary, and some helicopters may require a hover taxi above 25 ft AGL (above ground level) to reduce ground effect turbulence or provide clearance for cargo sling loads.
